North Bay Veterans Resource Center ~ Santa Rosa
The North Bay Veterans Resource Center (NBVRC) is our original location in Northern California established in 1980. Below is a brief description of our programs and services, and an exciting new project. Please call us for more information on program eligibility.

Winning the Employment Game
Where it all began! Tim Hodenfield has worked for NBVRC for over 17 years, and is the creator and author of "Winning the Employment Game." This text and workshop is an effective tool for career decisions in today's competitive labor market. The internal struggles to the job seeker: rejection, uncertainty and frustration, as well as the skills and competencies necessary to achieve career employment are the focus of this workshop. As Tim puts it best: "It is easy to get a job; winning the game is finding the job you want."
Petaluma Vet House

The "Vet House" is the first transitional housing project for veterans in Sonoma County. The 8-bed home is a joint effort by the City of Petaluma, HUD, the Veterans' Administration and NBVRC. The veterans residing in the house work toward training, employment and permanent housing goals.
Employment Counseling & Training
We are proud of our long tradition of helping veterans obtain career training and self sustaining employment opportunities. In addition to career assessment, counseling, and support services, eligible veterans may receive training subsidies.
Project In Development ~ Hearn House
In collaboration with Community Housing of Sonoma County (CHSC) the NBVRC is developing an exciting new project in Sonoma County. Hearn House is a supportive housing project with two phases. Phase I is the opening of a twelve-bed transitional housing facility for homeless veterans. This project is expected to be in operation within the next two years. Phase II is the development of permanent supportive housing for veterans. The project has benefited from the dedication of CHSC in its acquisition of over $2 million dollars in funding for the development and execution of Phase I.
